Introduction

Marrakech is a city that assaults all your senses. Jemaa el-Fnaa with its snake charmers, the smell of spices in the souks, the red stucco architecture that gives it its nickname, and the chaotic traffic of motorcycles and donkeys. It's a city that demands patience but rewards with magical moments: tea on a rooftop at sunset, traditional hammam, or getting lost in alleys where time stopped. Our 5-day route combines essential Marrakech with escapes to the coast and Atlas Mountains.

Practical tips

  • Haggle in the souks: start at half the initial price and smile while negotiating.
  • Women should dress conservatively in the medina (shoulders and knees covered).
  • Don't take photos of snake charmers without asking, they will demand tips.
  • Traffic in the medina is chaotic: motorcycles everywhere. Stay alert.
  • Drink only bottled water. Avoid ice in less reliable tourist areas.
  • Download offline maps: Google Maps works poorly in the medina alleys.
  • Taxis don't use meters: negotiate price before getting in (€5-10 for medium trips).
  • On the last day book the hammam to relax muscles after walking on cobblestones.
